        Hello,

Please revert back the changes for the snapshot controlfile in RMAN configuration and set the control_files on the standby database pfile as I'd mentioned earlier.
        control_files='+DG_01','+FRA_DG_01'
        Regards,

          Hi Shivananda,

Thanks for referring your page, I had actually already check it just before your comment. That directory should exist on the STANDBY ASM diskgroups correct?

          If so:

I feel that the error is with the "snapshot controlfile path" you set it earlier. Please refer to my previous post on this.

Sorry !! Its late night here and may be I'll have to give up for now !!

              Thanks Shivananda,

I've changed the files as you specified, but it's still failing:

                Very odd.

MOS seems to double back when it see the RMAN-06172.

                The note is :

Duplicate Target Database For Standby From Active Database Fails with RMAN-06172 [ID 1208803.1]

But given where you have been, it feels like we are going around in a circle.

There is a slight difference, but I'll believe it when I see it.

                Best Regards

MSEBerg, Thanks !! That did the trick. It turns out that you need to have the control files in this format in 11.1.0.7:
                  *.control_files='+DG_01/ECPMTSB/controlfile/control01.ctl','+FRA_DG_01/ECPMTSB/controlfile/control01.ctl'
You were correct, that was in fact a bug.

                  Thanks everyone for your help!
