In my project I am using a reporting tool named "Crystal Reports" which comes under Business Objects. I have made a oracle connection and I am able to generate reports based on oracle query.
I need a scheduler which will run that crystal reports file and put it in a destination. Is there any way to achieve this by PLSQL. Can I write a package or a stored procedure which will generate the file at a given time and put it in a destination.
Please let me know the feasibility of this or any useful links will be helpful.
what do you mean by " run that crystal reports file"? Scheduler in Database is well documented and you can about it in Oracle Database PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference, the documents are available at Oracle website.
Scheduling reports made in Business Objects is done from within the Business Objects environment, not from PL/SQL.
I'm sure you could do something with PL/SQL to achieve it, but really, it's something that should be dealt with from the BO side.
Thanks for your suggestion. Actually we are procuring Business Objects scheduler, but there are some other reporting tools which are free ware and we are using those from developing few reports.
I just thought if I can develop a stored procedure which will run a report file and put it in a destination. Anyways thanks for your inputs, but if you find any useful link for my requirement please share it me.
