    DB restoration

      Appreciate if you could please let us know what may be the cause of below DB restoration. The have used the following command for import


      imp ABC ABC file=E:\ABC\hris_mask.dmp fromuser=HRIS touser=ABC

      the output has come as below

      IMP-00034: Warning: FromUser "HRIS" not found in export file
      Import terminated successfully with warnings.

          error means export is not taken for HRIS user.
          take export again and then import again.

            There are no objects from the user HRIS in the dump file.

              the error is clear check error description :

              IMP-00034:     Warning: FromUser "string" not found in export file
              Cause: The user specified a FROMUSER name that does not exist in export file.
              Action:Correct the FROMUSER specification.

                Please can you elaborate more taking exp/imp from system users & other users.What are the different between perform Sys user & other user

                Ex:
                imp system@trng_n fromuser=dlsri touser=trng

                  Why are you not using expdp/impdp instead of the older exp/imp?

                  Either way, the parameters are pretty clearly described in the Utilities manual. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/toc.htm
