I don't have a linux system to test with currently and haven't heard of this issue, but I would try the last failing command from the command line. Maybe there is a syntax error in there? The rpm should be in the tar ball you are uninstalling from. But you get that rpm installed via command line and re-run the installer it should be ok.

Thanks for your update, you are saying correct like if we do it manually, rest should work but still don't know why is is not working, I installed package directly but later on removed cause from installer it was stuck at same position.

    Examples :-

redhat5]# rpm upgrade replacepkgs replacefiles nodeps root /opt/sun/n1gc/pkgs  relocate i386/redhat5/ipmitool-1.8.10.4-1.el5.i386.rpm
rpm: relocations must begin with a /

redhat5]# rpm upgrade replacepkgs replacefiles nodeps root /opt/sun/n1gc/pkgs  relocate /var/tmp/OC/xvmoc_full_bundle/Linux_i686/Product/components/OpsCenterAgent/i386/redhat5/ipmitool-1.8.10.4-1.el5.i386.rpm
rpm: relocations must contain a =

Don't know how and where give this = sign

    redhat5]# rpm -ivh ipmitool-1.8.10.4-1.el5.i386.rpm
    Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
    1:ipmitool ########################################### [100%]

This i did but when I ran installer again, it failed. So I uninstalled it but I feel if above command can be corrected in any way it should work but don't know how :(

Please help if anyone can ?

This is a new issue that only impacts 32bit Linux 5.*. It is being tracked as bug 15974655

The workaround it to manually install ipmitool prior to installing OC. To install,

    cd OpsCenterAgent
rpm upgrade replacepkgs replacefiles nodeps --root /opt/sun/n1gc/pkgs i386/redhat5/ipmitool-1.8.10.4-1.el5.i386.rpm

    Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion. its really good info you informed. I tried the same but don't know installer again not able to proceed.

Stuck at same point, will show you. It is not skipping that step. :-

    [root@test1 OpsCenterAgent]# pwd
    /var/tmp/OC/xvmoc_full_bundle/Linux_i686/Product/components/OpsCenterAgent
    [root@test1 OpsCenterAgent]#

When I chcked the log, it stuck at same point ipmitool :( :( Now not sure how to proceed.

    Failed Step: Install Agent components.
The following is a portion of the installer
log which may indicate the cause of the error.
If this does not indicate the cause of the
error, you will need to view the full log

    # ./OCDoctor.sh update file <file> --force

    24 packages installed.
    1 package failed to install.

Detailed installation log is at /var/scn/install/install-log_12.1.2.2161_4486. Symlink /var/scn/install/log was updated to point to it.
    Uninstall using /var/scn/install/uninstall.

Please fix the problem and then try this step again.

It looks like it's now stuck in a different point - at the Doctor upgrade portion which is part of the agent package.

What do you see in /var/scn/install/log ?

    Hi Eran,

No, it doesn't stuck at Doctor upgrade, when I chcked the log. It says again failing at ipmitool only. not sure how we can proceed with that step or is there any way we can skip that step. ?

Hmmm, are you sure the rpm was installed with the root option?  When installed with the root option
you shouldn't be able to see it with 'rpm -qa ipmitool'. You also need to add the --root option to
the 'rpm -qa' command. For example, from my Linux 5.5 system:

    # rpm upgrade replacepkgs replacefiles nodeps --root /opt/sun/n1gc/pkgs i386/redhat5/ipmitool-1.8.10.4-1.el5.i386.rpm
    #
    # rpm -qa ipmitool[dsechres@sysnet-v20z-coso5 OpsCenterAgent]#
    # rpm -qa --root /opt/sun/n1gc/pkgs
    ipmitool-1.8.10.4-1.el5

    What do these commands show?
    rpm -qa --root /opt/sun/n1gc/pkgs
    ls /opt/sun/n1gc/pkgs/usr/bin/ipmitool

These will verify if the rpm was installed in the proper location.
