I think that works fine for db log directory. Other parameters that change the structure of the DB like page size definitely require a rebuild from LDIF.
Oh, you might also need to remove the memory mapping files before you start back up. I think some info about the transaction logs gets cached in there. I'm not sure if the path to tx log is part of what's in the mmap files but if it is you will want to remove them.
Thanks Chris. I normally remove the cache files as part of my startup. In older versions of DS, we had issues many times with startups when we didn't remove them. Now I'm just overly cautious. The server I'm using is pretty old and having a hard time keeping up. Anything I can move off the spindle where the db resides can't hurt.
I would seriously consider using something 7.x or later. There are significant improvements to the DB subsystem, including compression and reduced replication metadata footprint.
