            Step 2: Check Connectivity

            $ setenv TNS_ADMIN $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
            $ sqlplus /nolog
            SQL> connect sys/pwd@node1 as sysdba
            SQL> connect sys/pwd@node2 as sysdba
            SQL> connect rman/rman@rcat

            Step 3 : Set the properties check with SHOW ALL

            Step 4 : Sample Script - So many Options are available

            run {
            ALLOCATE CHANNEL D1 TYPE DISK CONNECT 'SYS/RAC@NODE1';

              You need to configure RMAN tool or your Backup Plan?

              RMAN has a lot of parameters that you can change as per your need:
              - Parallelism
              - Optimized mode
              - ControlFile and SPFILE autobackups
              - Backup Destination
              - etc

              Maybe you should take a look on RMAN user's guide (Backup/Recover)
              http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/backup.111/b28270/toc.htm
