Moving EBS database to different node

Hello All

I am following metalink note 362205.1 for moving database from HP-UX to Linux.
The export has completed to the new server and the post import steps needs to be run

The post import steps are on metalink note 362203.1. Some of the steps are below

1. Deregister the database server
exec fnd_conc_clone.setup_clean;

2. Implement and run autoconfig
Create appsutil.zip and generate database context file
cd <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/bin
perl adbldxml.pl tier=db appsuser=apps

3. Generate and apply autoconfig configuration files
./adconfig.sh contextfile=/db_findbd/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.5/appsutil/FINT_ofindbq.xml

4. Run autoconfig on application tier

Here i have doubt. The application server is still pointing to HP-UX database server according to its context file
<dbhost oa_var="s_dbhost">findbqa</dbhost>
<dbc_file_name oa_var="s_dbc_file_name">findbqa_fint</dbc_file_name>
<jdbc_url oa_var="s_apps_jdbc_connect_descriptor">jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(LOAD_BALANCE=YES)(FAILOVER=YES)(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=findbqa.hq.bn-corp.com)(PORT=1523)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=FINT)))</jdbc_url>

Do i have to change anything manually ?
If i run autoconfig how will the application tier pick up the new Linux server ?

I do not want to screw after two weeks of work.

Thanks
Chirag

    You need to complete the steps under (Reconfigure the application tier to connect to the target database machine) section as per (Using Oracle Applications with a Split Configuration Database Tier on Oracle 10g Release 2 [ID 369693.1])

    Ok finally i have moved the database and Application tier to Linux
    Followed note 238276.1 for the app tier and 362205.1 for the database tier

    Brought the application up

    My home_url is pointing to
    SQL> select home_url from icx_parameters;

    HOME_URL
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    http://ofinapq.hq.bn-corp.com:8005/OA_HTML/US/ICXINDEX_FINT_ofinapq.htm

    Should be

    http://ofinapq.hq.bn-corp.com:8005/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp

    How do i correct this ?

    Edit the table manually.
    SQL> update icx_parameters
    set home_url='http://ofinapq.hq.bn-corp.com:8005/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp'
    where home_url = 'http://ofinapq.hq.bn-corp.com:8005/OA_HTML/US/ICXINDEX_FINT_ofinapq.htm';

    SQL> commit;
    Bounce the services and check then.

    Thanks,
    Hussein

    I tried that not working

    I even changed in the Context file and ran autoconfig
    Still the same

    Should i change to http://ofinapq.hq.bn-corp.com:8005/oa_servlets/AppsLogin

    instead of OA_HTML to oa_servlets

    This indicates that one (or more) of Apache services are up. Please shutdown Apache then kill the processes from the OS manually and try then. You may also reboot the server and start Apache as well.

    Thanks,

    Ok finally moved sucessfully both DB tier and APP tier to Linux
    Verified everything and so far good.

    Now from here i would like to upgrade to R12.1.3 and the database to 11.2.0.3
    I was reading the forums and found upgrading the application to R12.1.3 should be done first.

    What documents should i follow
    I know my first step which is converting to OATM.

    Thanks

    I am at the OATM migration step
    I had couple of questions
    My database is 1 TB and the OATM migration has consumed almost another 3 TB space
    I will be soon running out of space. The migration report says only 50% complete.

    Not sure why the size is three times more than the original database.

    Also for reducing the tablespace size do i have to apply any patches
    How do i reduce the size of old tablespaces and the new OATM tablespaces ?

    Thanks
