          Hi,
          The info provided here is not enough to identify your issue.

          But my conclusion is:
          Database doesn't archivelog or allow you connect with RMAN if one or more controlfile is missing while database was started:
          $ rman target /

          Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production on Wed Dec 12 13:53:36 2012

          RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
          RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
          RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
          RMAN-00554: initialization of internal recovery manager package failed
          RMAN-06003: ORACLE error from target database:
          ORA-00210: cannot open the specified control file
          ORA-00202: control file:  <path>/<controlfilename>
          ORA-27041: unable to open file
          So, I think you are doing something wrong.

            I think the database was started with the controlfiles present
            Thats why it's running fine now.
            I can connect with rman, thats no problem.

            I only thougt, that now the caontrolfiles are not in place anymore, the database would show some errors or something. But it seems the db doesn't care the controlfiles are not there anymore.
            Only when stopping and starting it again I guess
            But once running, the controlfile is in memory ?
