I would like to build a testing RAC environment for myself using VM server 2.2 and the RAC vm template. I have followed the guide (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/clustering/overview/rac11203-ovm-tmplt-test-config-439679.pdf) and it says: "_+It is also possible, in the test configuration to use the templates with only 1 NIC, by assigning all guests’ NICs to the single bridge (xenbr0) OR creating a second bridge (xenbr1) on a fake Dom0 NIC (eth1), also known as ‘Host-Only networking’ which would disable the live-migration option.+_"
I am using a desktop PC with one NIC only for such testing environment. I am very green to vm networking and want to know how to "creating a second bridge (xenbr1) on a fake Dom0 NIC (eth1), also known as ‘Host-Only networking’ ". Can anyone help? The RAC is for self-testing and performance is not a concern to me.
Thanks for your reply. How can I "setup 2 virtual nics referencing the same physical nic"? You meant setting up 2 virtual nics on the vm server? There is no GUI to do it on the vm server. The vm manager can only manage guest nic, not those owned by the vm server. Please help. Step by step instructions will be appreciated. Thanks, Kit
