Get process name and ID using ps -ef on AIX

      Hi,

I would like to find out if there's a command I can use to get only the instance name of weblogic and process ID on AIX?

      Thank you in advance.

          http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/pseries/v5r3/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.aix.cmds/doc/aixcmds4/ps.htm

contains the description for the ps command on AIX

          "
To display a specified format with field descriptors, type:
          ps -ef "< %u > %p %y : %a"
          "

by using field descriptors you can format the output as you see fit.

            Hi Rene

Thanks you for your response however would the field descriptors enable me to view the instance server name with the PID?

            ie. 1122233 -Dweblogic.Name=*server011a*

The thing is I have never played around with field descriptor before and I'm actually looking to run ps where I would be able to get for the -Dweblogic string where I can get to see the instance name instead of getting an output of all the directories defined withing the instance name.
