By chance is the filesystem ext4?
Hello again;1 person found this helpful
While not an exact match this Oracle document is very close :
RMAN Archivelog backup failed with ORA-19599: Everytime [ID 1319453.1]
They speak to ext4 in it. So while I cannot quote the document, you seem to have a combination with an issue. ASYNC probably just adds to the mix.

Yes, Ive already found block corrupted when the database using the async io options.
The problem was similar that you have now ... The problem was happening because the AIO is enable but the kernel Linux was disabled and I check the note How To Check if Asynchronous I/O is Working On Linux [ID 237299.1] and can prove that the Linux is not working with AIO.
After I disabled the FILESYSTEMIO_OPTIONS, the problem was gone.
Obs: I was using ext4!
Ok, i'll keep async io disabled...
The speed increase also wasn't that much...
BTW This DB was running without 1 single problem on this config for over 300 days now..... I had some huge jobs that kept the discs busy. That's why i was looking for some extra speed....
Thank you both
