Running Apex 4.1.1 against Oracle 11g 11.2 via Oracle Application Server 10gR2 (yeah, I know).
I just now had to put up a quick notice to users of a planned downtime. I'm using the Global Notification feature with substitution string in the page header of the theme's template. It is okay for English but I need to have it translated into French. I have tried the manual edit page but have not been able to find my text...yes, I did do a Translation Seed after making my change.
I started with apex when it was htmldb 1.6 so I know a few things about the tool. Could someone point me to a way to fix this?
create language specific messages in Shared Components ->Translate ->Text Messages. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35127/apex_lang.htm#CHDBCEAB
Then you can create a application or page level item and set it's value to the language specific message you just created using the apex_lang.message().
In the Global Notification use substitution syntax to show the application or page item value like this &APP_ITEM. or &PAGE_ITEM.
