jsp - servlet - long-running app continous outputstream

hello.

I have a long-running app that uses htmlunit to simulate users of my website, as a test during development.

I am running this simulation from a jsp-servlet. I want the app to run for a long time, possibly for hours.

During each loop of the test I want to output a status message onto the webpage.

I am uncertain about which type of outputstream I should use.

-----

Please suggest the code I should use for this outputstream.

-----

Will a continuous outputstream keep the browser from timing out?

-----

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    It doesn't matter.

There's nothing special about this. You know how to write to an Outputstream, don't you?

    Yes, at least it should.

Although I think your real problem is that you're running htmlunit from a "jsp-servlet". What made you come up with that requirement?
