Did anybody experienced hosting the Oracle RAC on IBM PowerVM's? Any technical difficulties or cons ? And how is the performance comparing to other platforms? Planing to host oltp system for about 500 users.
About performance with other platform, IMHO on this case perfomance is not about platform but about hardware. Compare old hardware with new hardware you will get you answer.
500 users did not say anything, you should check TPS, IOPs, CPU/Memory utilization and so on to know if your hardware will hold your workload.
Also you can check:
Before Oracle RAC on Power VMs safe measure is *"Check Certification Matrix" in Metalink.*
