I have installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 12c Release 1 on Eclipse 4.2.1.
When I try to create a JPA project at the last step when I click finish I get the error: "Could not write to persistence.xml file. java.lang.NullPointerException".
My project settings are as follows:
Platform: EclipseLink 2.4.x
JPA Implementation: User Library (EclipseLink 2.4.1 - Juno)
Connected to an Oracle 11.2 database.
Persistent class management: Discover annotated classes automatically
Target Runtime: jre7
Project Facets: Default Configuration for jre7
I have tried creating a project in a different workspace so I don't think it is a file permissions problem.
Does anyone know why I'm getting this error?
It would be very helpful if you could open the "Error Log" view and find the stack trace related to the NullPointerException. Please paste the entire stack trace into this thread so we can get more info on this exception. Thanks.
Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 22.214.171.124 is available for Eclipse Juno (3.8 and 4.2).
If already the 126.96.36.199 version Could not write to persistence.xml file. java.lang.NullPointerException indicates persistence.xml is not found. Does the JPA project created have the persistence.xml file, eventhough an error has been generated? If JPA project does not get created, create an EJB project and add the JPA project facet to the project.
