How many LUNS have you presented from the 6180?
I assume you're using a fiber channel switch between the 6180 and the hosts or are you direct connecting? If direct connecting, how do you have multiple servers connected? It maybe as simple as a zoning issue.
I am using fiber channel cable to connect directly (direct attached) between the Sun Storage 6180 Array (only 1 volume as RAID 1) and 2 Sun Fire X 4100 M2 Servers.
Please give advice for this.
Thanks & Regards,
1. So you're trying to create a server pool and a storage repository on a single LUN that is direct attached? Don't your software on the 6180 allow you present multiple LUNS from disk group? Think about it. You create a clustered server pool on a single LUN and then try to use that same LUN for repository.....
2. How are both hosts attached? Are there multiple HBA cards in your 6180? Is so, how many? If you have redundant cards you should be using multipathing for redundancy.
My storage (6180) have only one controller (A available ad B not available) and has two ports are connecting to 2 hosts (x4100M2 Servers) only via fiber chanel. This storage use Common Array Manager software to configure virtual disk, volume and mapping it (map as default).
Thanks and regards,
I have exactly the same problem. Please advice if this error was resolved.
Now I have solved this issue and I know clearly about this, it is different from Oracle VM 2.2.2. So we must have at least two physical disks for Pool and Repository, but a physical disk for Server Pool not require big size because it's just stored configuration of cluster and other files.
My success is I have created 2 volumes for Pool and Repository but for Pool is small volume, than it's working fine.
Thank you, is working after separate LUNs were assigned: one for the server pool and another for the repository.
