We are using Eclipselink JPA in our project. Due to licensing issues, we cannot adopt Coherence as a cache strategy in our product. So, our team is currently analyzing caching strategies with Eclipselink. With regards to this, I have some queries. Not sure what kind of recommendation are you looking for?
1) What is the recommendation for distributed caching strategy for Eclipselink JPA in Weblogic?
2) Is the default Eclipselink cache co-ordination in Weblogic a production-ready solution? Are there any products in SOA using this?Yes this is in production at quite a few large implementation. You may contact your Oracle Sales rep for references. SOA and JPA are 2 different concepts so not sure what are you looking here?
3) Is there a JVM level cache co-ordination solution for Eclipselink JPA that does not use Coherence?I think you meant distributed cache solution spanning across JVMs so there are some open source solutions such as, Ehcache, Memcached but none of them provide scalability, fault-tolerance as Coherence does.
Can anyone guide us on this?HTH
