Stop WebLogic server from the WLST

I am getting the error when I try to stop WebLogic server using WLST. The error happens when script tries to connect to the running server:
wls:/offline> connect('weblogic', 'weblogic123', 't3://topics:7001')
Connecting to t3://localhost:7001 with userid weblogic ...

The username/password are correct. I am running java 1.7.
