I'm trying to assign access to the root member of an Account dimension in planning. I'd prefer to clear the "apply security" option for the dimension, but it's greyed out in the hierarchy in planning and workspace. I recall reading that on some dimensions security isn't optional, but I haven't been able to confirm this. So, two questions.
1. Is there a way to assign access to generation 1 in a required planning dimensions that has security applied?
2. Is there a way to remove the application of security from all dimensions in a planning application?
I'm in version 18.104.22.168.
No you can't apply security at the dimension level.
Have a look at the importsecurity utility and SL_CLEARALL to remove all the security from an application - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/ch03s07.html
What do you think about using batching up the planning app refresh and then adding a maxl script at the tail end to write a filter at the root in Essbase for all provisioned users?
Something like what Cameron Lackpour did with metaread filters here:
