Solaris 11.1 boot issue - ice Listen For Connections did not return a local
Jan 3, 2013 4:56 AM
I usually access my Solaris server via vnc, I have had no visable problems as Solaris 11 was very stable.
I upgraded to Solaris 11.1 and it is crashing once a day.
I connected my monitor directly to the Solaris Server and I get the following dialogue box:-
ice Listen For Connections did not return a local.
Once I click ok the curser is visable at the top left hand corner and there is no response from mouse or keyboard.
If I reboot and access via vnc I can log in an it all seems ok but I get a system crash, the crash did not happen before I upgraded.
Can anyone please assist.
I have the same question

I also got this similar issue sometimes. It couldn't start after the said warning shown on screen. But I could log in via RealVNC in virtual mode during the warning and then restart it. So i guess it is display (card) issue.
My two cents.
