I know that WebLogic Cluster will automatically create a session replica to a secondary server when user does something in his session, like calling session.setAttribute(key, obj).
However, suppose there are two managed servers in a cluster, a primary session and a session replica are on server1 and server2 respectively. Then server2 is shutdown and restart, I observe that the session replica is lost. (The user keeps idle and the session timeout is set very long, e.g. 1 hour)
What if server1 is shutdown in this moment? The primary session is also lost (while the session is not timeout).
So, I want to ask, is there any point in the operations I can tell WebLogic Cluster to replicate session to an available server without end user's interaction? Thanks for any suggestion.
By default session is not replicated.
In your weblogic.xml you need to have a section like as shown below then session replication is allowed.
Thanks & Regards,
