[OBIEE 11g] How to override value of column data

    983437
      Hi,

I am now creating a new Analytics report and have selected some columns from Subject Areas.
Could you teach me how I can override value of resulted data by setting condition.

      [Is now]
Column Name : Opportunity Type Code
Result of data : Unassigned, Tech, Apps, SaaS..... etc.

      [Will be]
Column Name : Opportunity Type Code (No change)
      Result of data : U, T, A, S..... etc.

This means that "U" is Unassigned, "T" is Tech, "A" is Apps, "S" is SaaS and I would like only see U, T, A and S in the result.

      Regards,
      Maho

          Maqs-Oracle
          In column formula type

          LEFT("Presentation Table Name"."Opportunity Type Code", 1) .

This will give you first character of the String value.

          Thanks

              Hello,
in such cases you'd better create a database table and map it in the repository, if you can.
Anyway, I think that what you are looking for is the Bin.
Go to the Criteria page of the request definition. Edit the formula of the column you want. Go to the "Bin" tab and create labels as you like.
If you want, you may look at what this generates in the formula tab of the column, afterwards.

              Hope it helps.
