The Mystery of ADF Custom Components

    962303
      Hi All,

We are currently working on an ADF and WebCenter project and need to create our own ADF custom component (Not the declarative one, but the one with our own tag and backend).
After search over the internet for few days, we found there is no a complete step by step tutorial, nor a completed example source code for this.

There is a chapter Creating Custom ADF Faces Components for this topic in ADF Dev Guide, but the information provided by the guide is confusing.
An example called TagPane is mentioned in the guide for demonstration, however what shown is the guide is just few fragments of the source code. There is not where to find the source code.
Some steps even are not applicable in JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0, for example, we are not even able to find a required target namespace for trinidad-skins.xml in the XML Document create wizard.

ADF custom components seems like a mystery which is just a legendary story to us now.
Does anyone know where we could find a comprehensive guide/tutorial/example project for building our own custom ADF components?

BTW, we are not able to locate ADF Skin in New Gallery in Jdev 11.1.1.6, but this it there in Jdev 11.1.2.x. It's a bug of Jdev 11.1.1.6?

      Thanks,
      Nicholas

          Just to answer

It's not a bug, ADF Skin Editor is not JDev 11.1.1.6.
You can download the stand alone version if you want ( http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html ).
