Issue with dns alias

Hi All,

We have 4 servers in an array with a url alias using dns rr. On occasion, when using the url alias, sgd not complete the login process.
If the user connects directly to the same server with a direct dns entry, no issue. Any thoughts ?

thanks

you need to use either the SGD Gateway or Load Balancing JSP to work with RR DNS. see

It sounds like the client is returning a different DNS record at different stages of the connection, due to the round robin nature of the connection FQDN. At what point does it fail - is it at the point where the SGD client attempts to connect (task bar utility)?

In my experience the round robin URL and the servername URL should be different - in this way the initial client connections use the round robin URL and then the AIP connections established by the SGD client connect directly to the selected array server.

Hope that helps in some way.

    Hi MrBrown,

    Thanks for the quick response.

We do use the load balance JSP.

    Thanks

Hi Thanks for the quick response.

The user will get the login page, enter credentials, then just hang at that point.
