    Error in writing to directory

      Hello Forum Mates

      im installing oracle 10.2 on linux 4 im getting error like this


      [*oracle@ras 10g-linux]$ ./runInstaller*
      Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

      Checking installer requirements...

      Checking operating system version: must be redhat-3, SuSE-9, redhat-4, UnitedLinux-1.0, asianux-1 or asianux-2
      Passed


      All installer requirements met.

      Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from /tmp/OraInstall2013-01-15_10-46-08PM. Please wait ...sh: -c: line 0: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `''
      sh: -c: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file

      Error in writing to directory /tmp/OraInstall2013-01-15_10-46-08PM. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has atleast 60 MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue.
      *: Success*

      i have given permisiion as 775

          * not needed here.....

          ./runInstaller

          check space in tmp directory

          df -kh /tmp

          post results

            /dev/sda2 20G 6.8G 12G 37% /

              ya i tried ./runinstaller only

                required space in where your ORACLE_HOME locate.

                please make sure ORACLE_HOME/ have enough space or not..

                  whole disks are free and given permission 775

                    i have given permisiion as 775
                    post logfile "/tmp/OraInstall2013-01-15_10-46-08PM" and also share directories with all info.

                          As per understanding.... hope your mount point is not properly mounted.

                          please again mount ORACLE_HOME directory... and then try installation.
