Report Font!?!?!

So I have a report with several columns. I want to change the color of the values in a particular column. I accomplish this with:
<font color="red">#COLUMN_NAME#</font>
However it makes the font size a tad bit bigger. Why in the world is this!?!?!?
Where do I go to set a permanent font for the entire report without linking to a css sheet???

ive tried to use
<font size="30" color="red">This is some text!</font>
but that doesn't change the font

::Sigh::

    No you don't. The <tt>font</tt> element was deprecated 14 years ago and is now obsolete. Do not use it. Stop using any reference material that suggests using it.

    Use standards-based HTML and CSS:
    <span style="color:red;">Foo</span>

    Who can tell? We can't because you don't supply any relevant information. APEX version? Theme? Templates? Interactive or standard report?

    It depends. On all the information not provided.
