    Creating Heat Map in Oracle Maps ?

    MattJames
      I'm wondering how to get a heat map to be created using the Oracle Maps javascript API. Creating the heat map style is the easy part, as it can simply be an XML style, but how would I go about creating a theme having a list of points?

      Any suggestions are welcome, sample XML of a theme would be very useful.

      Regards,
      Matt

          I am also interested in this subject. We are trying to do this using 11.1.1.6 . If anyone has a solution it would be really helpful

            The list of points is simply a predefined theme defined/stored in user_sdo_themes.
            The heatmap style is an xml style (as you mentioned) preferably stored in user_sdo_styles.

            For e.g. a heatmap style
            SQL> select name, definition from user_sdo_styles where name like 'HEAT%';

            NAME
            --------------------------------
            DEFINITION
            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

            HEATMAP1
            <?xml version="1.0" ?>
            <AdvancedStyle>
            <HeatMapStyle>
            <color_stops num_steps="250" alpha="168">
            FFFFFF,00FF00,FFC800,FF0000
            </color_stops>
            <spot_light_radius>50.0km</spot_light_radius>
            <grid_sample_factor>4.0</grid_sample_factor>
            <container_theme>THEME_DEMO_STATES</container_theme>
            </HeatMapStyle>
            </AdvancedStyle>

            and theme for display a heatmap
            SQL> select name, base_table, geometry_column, styling_rules from user_sdo_theme
            s where name like 'HEAT%';

            NAME
            --------------------------------
            BASE_TABLE
            ----------------------------------------------------------------
            GEOMETRY_COLUMN
            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

            STYLING_RULES
            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

            HEATMAP_TEST
            CITIES
            LOCATION
            <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
            <styling_rules>
            <rule column="CITY">
            <features style="HEATMAP1"> </features>
            </rule>
            </styling_rules>
