In that i have to delete BDSTLP/datafiles/ database files. so i changed my present working directory to BDSTLP/datafiles/ and used rm -rf command. But it has deleted all the system
database files also from another directories (hstlp, pstlp, dstlp).
why it has deleted from another directories also...?
Before issuing delete statement, did you run "pwd" to confirm whether you are really in the directory where you want to be? I belive you executed this command from parent directory of <DB_NAME> and it deleted all files from all database folders. If you were really in BDSTLP/datafiles/ directory, Oracle is not supposed to delete any other files/directories which are outside BDSTLP/datafiles/ directory.
