When does the auto-updater replace Java 6 with Java 7?

I have read this link (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/documentation/autoupdate-1667051.html) multiple times and I'm still trying to clarify one issue. According to that link, in February the Java auto-updater will begin replacing Java 6 with Java 7. However, will this happen if the user has both Java 6 and Java 7 already installed?

For example:
1. User has Java 6 Update 38 installed at some point. (With no other versions of JRE 6 existing.)
2. User has Java 7 Update 10 installed at some point. (So both Java 6 and 7 are co-existing.)

In February, what will the Java auto-updater do in this scenario? Will it:
A: Remove Java 6 Update 38 and replace Java 7 Update 10 with Java 7 Update 11?
B: Keep Java 6 Update 38 and replace Java 7 Update 10 with Java 7 Update 11?

Regards,
Justin
