+1) From 11g onwards you can create the parameter file from Memory as long as the database instance is still running+

Rather than making such remarks, it would be better if you take the advice given by Hemant and Ed (band see how can it help you. Not knowing is not a crime but not knowing something which is an absolute basic is something that can't be taken lightly, especially when the person says that I am certified!

May i will feel awkward to ask easy questions next time :|I don't think that you should feel that way. You can and anyone else too can, ask whichever question they want. But there should be an effort shown before asking. Now in your question, it showed a lack of basic understanding. If you know , as you said, that the parameter file is used to start the db so than why you are bringing control file in this discussion of difference between a spfile and init file? What that has to do with these two? And if you do think it has to do something with them, either your understanding about their meaning is non-existing or is flawed which is not really a good thing if you are a certified person. It's easy to understand that you want to know more about control file and it's not a basic question either but when you start comparing control file with spile , it rings a bell, on a wrong note to the listener.
