Remote Connection Help

I can connect to the XE database from the same computer (Fedora) but I can't get to it from a remote computer on the same network. What settings am I missing on either the server or client side? What should I check first?

    tnsping from remote node.

    Regards,
I got TNS-12535, timed out. The command I issued was tnsping 192.168.1.135, the IP where xe is.

    HI,

Could you put client's "tnsnames.ora", And server's output of "lsnrctl services" and listener.ora file?

tnsping use netservice name, not IP address.
    tnsping "netservice name"
    Regards,

Is normal ping to 192.168.1.135 OK?
    No firewall?(no port filtering?)

On local node, how did you connect to database? sqlplus user/pass@dbconnect, right?

    regards,

There aren't any other users other than sys and system on the database.

the tns file doesn't show up in the dropdown in sql develper for Network Alias on the server.
