Returning to the main doubt, i have installed Grid 11.2 on my OEL 6.2 successfully, but at the time of creating the ASM instance, another doubt appeared: Using the disk discovery path "/dev/oracleasm/disks/" show me the disks that i have stamped as asm disks, but i never used this discovery path before. I would like to know if it is correct to use this discovery path? The Oracle Linux ASMLib (herein "ASMLib") is composed of two pieces. The first piece is the actual ASMLib library. This is a userspace library loaded by Oracle at Oracle startup. The second is a kernel driver that is loaded into the OS kernel at system boot.
You should not be using /dev/oracleasm/disks because then you won't use ASMLIB but access the disks via normal O/S system calls (i.e Not use ASMLIb Userspace). This forfeits the idea behind asmlib (and thus makes asmlib obsolete on these systems).
