We have a dynamic scenario named 'Forecast' which uses this formula: IF(@ISLEV("Period",0)) IF(@ISMBR(&ActMonth:"Dec"))"Budget";ELSE"Actual";ENDIF; ENDIF;
It apparently works . I say this because if I test it in Smartview, it works, but if I change the variable &ActMonth in EAS and I refresh it in Smartview, the values aren't not changed accordingly.
If I deploy or stop/start the application and then I refresh in Smartview, the values are changed.
Does somebody know why this behaviour? How can I force to refresh values in Smartview after changing the value of the variable?
This is a known behavior in Essbase.
When using a substitution variable within the outline, the only way to refresh a variable change is to stop/start the database.
This has nothing to do with Smart View.
Thank you for your answer. I can assume that this is a known behavior but two questions:
* Why Planning is not affected by this behavior?
* Why neither Calc Scripts nor Business Rules?
Planning forms , Business Rules and calc scripts are initiated when the user starts them It appears the substitution variables in the outline formaulas are validated and expanded when the database starts. IT would be nice if ther ewere some sort of command to force the variables to be updated after changing them , but there is not, so stopping and starting the BB is the only way to update them
