    tauseefcafe
      Hi,

I have installed Oracle VM Server 3.1.1 on Virtual Box(two HDD - file systems ext & ocfs2).

I have installed Oracle VM Manager 3.1.1 on another VirtualMachine on Oracle Linux5 U6. I am able to discover my Oralce VM Server from VM Manager console. But when I try to add file system on Storage tab I am facing problem.

I am trying to add file server and proving details of my VM Server, its able to found the server but able to browse any file system from my Server.

I tried to google it and resolve but with no luck.

      Giving below error

Many prior posts on this subject.

In a nutshell to configure a repository on OVM 3 the disk store has to be unconfigured e.g. just a disk device
/dev/sdb no partitions and no filesystems.

Disk configuration should be appear as follows prior to setting up the repository.

          [root@ovm311 ~]# multipath -ll
          3600605b0052bb8201853949122e3d860 dm-0 LSI,MR9261-8i

          `- 0:2:1:0 sdb 8:16 active ready running

Excerpt "Oracle® VM User's Guide for Release 3.2.14.2.1. Local Storage",

            http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35328_01/E35332/html/vmusg-storage-types.html#vmusg-storage-local

"As long as no partition and data are present the device will be detected as a raw disk. The choice is yours to use the
local disks either to provision logical storage volumes as disks for virtual machines or to install a storage repository. If you
place a storage repository on the local disk, an OCFS2 file system is installed."
