We want to load data from DB tables into HFM by company, for example, the source data may contain three companies in dimension Entity, each company has authority to load their own data into HFM,but has no authority to load the other company's data, so we want to set a parameter which represent the Entity value. My questions are how to set this parameter in FDM, and how to associate the parameter with the right entity value when one company user login into the fdm system?
Thank you vary much!
If you are sourcing data directly from the DB tables via an integration script I would suggest parameterizing the select query you use. One option would be to name the FDM locations so they match the Entity names from your source DB and this could then be referenced as a dynamic parameter in the where clause of your sql statement. You would then use FDM's location security model to limit the users so they only have access to the relevant data.
Thanks for your advice!
I did exactly as what you said, and it worked!
But here is a problem,if we have nearly 100 companies,we have to create nearly 100 locations?
besides,if the user 001 have the right to upload two or more compnies's data, how can we meet this situation？
Looking forward your news!
