I was trying to follow the Apex 4.2 documentation sample for building a RESTful web service on our local server and when it came to the point to 'Click Test' after creating the module, no Test icon was available. The Test icon appeared in the apex.oracle.com site (but gives error message which site gave warning about), but I am wondering why Test does not even appear in local install.
there are some requirements for using restful services.
You need to use oracle apex listenener and you apex version has to be at least 4.2.
Are you sure you're using the apex listener and not the EPG ( which does not work as far as I know ).
Yes, I understand the requirements for the Oracle listener and we were having problems getting the new listener installed, but I assumed if we were able to start creating the web service module that the ability to TEST should have been avaialable.
The ability to "listen" for RESTful calls is provided exclusively by the APEX Listener. Thus, if you aren't running the APEX Listener to access APEX, then there really isn't an effective way to be able to test it. Hence, no Test button.
I hope this helps.
