    PIA with authentication token domain.

      Hi All,

I recently installed HRMS 9.1 demo with Oracle database in my laptop. I am able to access application, app designer.

But when I tried to create a new weblogic domain with ".mydomain.com", not able to see login page. It says dns name not resolved.
When I enter url like http://bhstc:9001/ps/signin.html, it asks to enter authentication domain. (machine name: bhstc, HTTP port:9001)

Can you please suggest, what are things we may need to look to correct the issue? Thanks in advance!

      Regards,
      Shailesh Bhat.

Looks like your domain is not connected to a DNS server.

In this case the browser will try to find .mydomain.com on the internet.
To force the browser to go to your (local) webserver on .mydomain.com need to add this to your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or /etc/hosts)
Find your webserver ipaddress (using ipconfig or ifconfig) and add following line to your hosts file

          10.10.10.10 something.mydomain.com

where 10.10.10.10 should be substituted with your ip address and something.mydomain.com should be substituted with the url you want to enforce.

Now when you try http://something.mydomain.com:9001/ps/signon.html, it will be routed to your webserver.

If your are using a proxy server you need to add .mydomain.com as an exception.

          Regards,

What do you mean by "it asks to enter authentication domain"? Do you actually see a prompt with a data entry field or you see a message telling you that your URL must use the full host name? Is it a PeopleSoft warning message? Are you trying to access http://bhstc.mydomain.com:9001/ps/signin.html or .mydomain.com?

For PeopleSoft installations, I am not aware of a requirement to create a weblogic domain. PsMpPiaInstall takes care of that for you.

If you configured your web profile to use an Authentication Domain (and everyone should do this!), then make sure your server knows it's fully qualified domain name (bhstc.mydomain.com). If you are unable to ping that address from your workstation, then, like Hakan stated, you will have to add it to your local hosts file.

Thank you very much Hakan and Jim!.

Added my IP address to hosts file. Now I am able to see the login page.
