thank you Hussain.
but it was working fine. actually i am starting the VM after around 8-10months. before that it was working with the same config.
the only change that i can think of between now and then is i changed my network router from NETGEAR to ATT wireless.
not sure if that causes any issues here?
as now this is already installed. can i change the hostname.domainname now?
if yes, please guide me or point me to a document describing the same.
you are correct. the firewall is causing the issue.
although i had opened the HTTP port in guest OS but somehow that is not working.
so i completely disabled the firewall and that seems to be working.
for now i am good. i could able to connect the VIS from host machine.
will investigate why individual port opening not working.
thanks a lot.
