      Hi All !

Can we install oracle apps r12 software meant for RHEL 5 on RHEL 6 ?
I am trying to do the same and while running rapidwiz I am getting following error:

/bin/sh^M bad interpreter: no such file or directory

      Regards,
      Vinod

Yes you can. Pl confirm you are following the steps in MOS Docs (depending on whether your OS is 32-bit or 64-bit) - there are special considerations for RHEL 6

How did you create the stage area directory?

Please run md5sum as per (MD5 Checksums for R12.1.1 Rapid Install Media [ID 802195.1]) to verify the integrity of the stage area directory.

            Thanks,
            Hussein

              Thanks Srini and Hussein !

I am going through the document 761566.1.

I have created the staging area by copying the already unzipped folders StartCD, Disk1, Disk2, etc. to my laptop where I am trying this installation. One question: is 200 GB space good enough for this installation ?

And about the error I was facing. I did set fileformat=unix and that resolved it !

But now when I run rapidwiz, it says it will lauch java interface but it just stays there and there is no interface ! What could be the issue ?

              Regards,
              Vinod

Please refer to page no: 1-10, in

Please post the logfile contents from /tmp/<time stamp>/*.log files

Also before running rapidwiz, did you run xhost + from root. You can check by running command

                #xclock

and see if you can see the clock

                Thanks

OK I have succeeded in setting the display as follows:

                    # ssh -X root@hostname

But md5sum has returned with following errors:
