Oracle XE and Failover best practice

Data Guard is not supported by Oracle XE - obviously it can not be free...

But any one knows a practice to cover the fail situations for XE, other than the provided features for fail-over?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

depending on your requirements, XE might be the wrong Edition of Oracle Database to fulfill them.
You can't have more than one installation per server, you don't have RAC or similar.
If you just need desaster recovery, you can use other means, e. g. Archive Logging, Flashback Recovery and RMAN. The [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/server.112/e18804/backrest.htm#i1004902]2 Day DBA for XE provides an introduction on Backup and Recovery in XE.
