    Scrolling within a page

    VANJ
To branch & scroll to a specific position within a page (upon initial page load), is using a named anchor still the recommended/modern way to do this or is there some jQuery plugin goodness that does a better job?

      Any ideas, examples appreciated.

      Thanks

Your reference clearly states that the name attribute is not supported in HTML5, so most likely this is not the modern way.

Please check if the jQuery scrollTop can help you - http://www.w3schools.com/jquery/css_scrolltop.asp .

          Regards,
          Arie.

Actually, it appears that you can (and should) refer to an element's ID attribute instead of the name attribute. This will also work for other element types, not just anchors.
