Hi all,

I installed Oracle 11g R@ in windows 7 PC and created database as OR, for this OR database EMCONSOLE is created & working Fine..

Then again i created another database in the same PC as database name as RO, for that it is throwing a error as below while creation from DBCA.

Enterprise Manager configuration failed due to the following error-
Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it.
start the listener & registe database service and run EM configuration Assistant again.

Refer to the log file at E:\app\ORACLE\cfgtoollogs\dbca\emconfig.log for more details.

EM can only be configured for single DB per system.

EM is NOT required for any DB operation or support.

remove repository for OR database then create new repository for RO database.

    Rinse, Lather, Repeat

or just use sqlplus to manage both DB's concurrently.

    Clarification:

A single "instance" of dbcontrol can only be configured for a single DB. However, it is quite possible (and documented in an MOS note) to configure multiple instances of dbcontrol on a given host. Each instance of dbcontrol runs on its own https port and manages the one single database for which it was configured.
EM is NOT required for any DB operation or support.

I'd say that first error message was pretty self-explanatory. What have you done to address it?

"Listener is not up *or database service is not registered with it*."

    Open a command prompt.
Copy this command and paste it into the command prompt:
    lsnrctl status
    Press enter.
Copy the entire session and paste into your next post.
