    changing the keyboard settings

    989083
      hello. I wonder if anyone knows any command to change the keyboard settings?

      I edited / etc / profile

      using the command

        # Setxkbmap-model pc104-layout br-variant ABNT2

      but failed.

      could someone help me?

      grateful

          Dude!
          The file /etc/sysconfig/keyboard defines your keyboard.

          # find /lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/ -name br-abnt*
          /lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/br-abnt.map.gz
          /lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/br-abnt2.map.gz

          Perhaps editing the following works:

          KEYBOARDTYPE="pc"
          KEYTABLE="br-abnt2"

          Then restart the system.

            Hi Dude, thanks for your time and answer.

            i did what you tell to do, but i search and find some other solution, based on your answer

            > unzip the file
            gunzip br-abnt2.map.gz

            then
            i used a simple comand

            # loadkeys br-abnt2

            work for me.

            Thanks Dude!

            ( but i edit too the keyboard file .... )
            tks
