I'm not sure about cubes and Gen5, if it is related to a single prompt based on two or more columns then you may go for SQL and UNION clause.
In the prompt choose
Choice List Values->SQL Results
and then use UNION clause to combine different columns queries
You'll have to construct the list using MDX inside an EVALAUTE wrapper, otherwise you won't get such a list out "just like that".
Thanks for the reply Christian. I literally tried at least 100 possible iterations of the Evaluate statement and none of them will compile in OBIEE. Before posting, I scoured the Internet for days hoping someone else has had this issue resolved. I had no luck. If you know of anyone that has actually been successful with the EVALUATE statement to make a list of dimension members from different generations, please post the exact code snippet so that I can leverage off of somone else's knowledge.
I have tried dozens of possible iterations of: with no luck at all.
I don't have the exact code handy, but it's definitely possible. Either try an EVALUATE with of combination of Intersect and Descendants if you want an in-line table prompt or a SELECT...ON COLUMNS...ON ROWS... if you want a dashboard prompt.
I did a piece on multi-level filtering a while back, check it out: http://hekatonkheires.blogspot.com/2009/04/dynamic-multi-level-filtering-with-mdx.html
