    KM steps to execution steps

      Hi
New to ODI, and have three schema - source, staging, target. Using LKM Oracle to Oracle(DBLInk) between src + staging and from staging to target.

Looking at the execution steps - have
      Loading - drop work table
Loading - Create view/table on source
Loading - Drop Synonym on target
Loading - Create synonym on target
Export - interface - Drop Work table
Export - interface - Create view/table on source
Export - interface - Drop Synonym on target
Export - interface - Create synonym on target
Integration - interface - Add target table
Integration - interface - Commit transaction
Loading - drop synonym on target
Loading - drop view/table on source
Export - interface - Drop Synonym on target
Export - interface - Drop view/table on source

These steps don't seem to match the full list for the km's, and also some are used when 'Always Execute' not ticked.

How do I relate the KM steps in deteils to execution steps.

      Regards
      Terry

There are some steps related to journal. These steps will not be executed unless you use CDC or SCD. So ODI is using the steps as per the necessity.

            Hi Terry,

It also depends on the option you set in the flow tab for your KM.
For instance you'll have some more steps if you turn the flow control on.

One other point : If your three schemas are on the same database, you shouldn't use a LKM. Just define one dataserver for this database with multiple physical schemas. Then grant a select (and insert, update, delete if needed) privs to the schema used for connection in the dataserver definition.
            You'll improve performance.
