My Solaris 11.1 system was doing a shutdown and experience a power failure. Upon reboot, it stopped at:
Requesting System Maintenance Mode
(See /lib/svc/share/README for more information.)
svc:/system/early-manifest-import:default exited with status 1
Enter user name for system maintenance (control-d to bypass):
I'm logged in as user root.
Any suggestions on how to fix the "svc:/system/early-manifest-import:default ..." issue?
Can you please check the below note
Solaris11 cannot boot and goes into maintenance ( svc:/system/early-manifest-import:default exited with status 1 ) (Doc ID 1526559.1)
It has the solution workaround. Kindly let us know in case issue is not fixed
I decided to do a re-install.
I deliberately have my system configured so that it has the OS on a disk by itself. And, my final config isn't much different from the default install. Requires less than 5 minutes to get it to that state after a fresh install. So, it was easy enough to go that route.
Thanks for the tip though ... I'll try it should I run into the situation again.
I think your problem was in corrupted manifest repository.
Due power failure you have inconsistent filesystem, and need to restore one of your backup manifest. Try to look at documentation on service and failure facility.
