I created a non-system session variable. I set a default initializer value for initial value. I wrote a sql script for reading the variable value from a table. When I use the variable on analytic report, the varialble initail value can not change or update from table belongs to my user.
Can you give any advise to me?
Not clear with your question? The Init block is not working as expected? or else you want to keep given default value any time and that should not be based on the sql query?
If you want to keep a default value for ever then you may go with query something like select 1 from dual or else can go for static variable.
Let me know in more detail

I want to set a dynamic value, is based on my sql table. I set the default initialzer value as 'NewYork'. All session the "NewYork" value is coming; but I want to change the city names as dynamically and are based on user ID on sql table.
thanks your replies...
Did you included :USER in where clause condition?
Correct me if I'm wrong; we set default Initializer and there is no scope to set a default value?
BTW: What you see in the log?
