Node VIP and SCAN VIP both are different and they work independently but if you have setup SCAN With GNS in that case both are resolved in same way i.e. GNS will resolve the IP. In short whenever either application use Node-VIP or SCAN VIP the request forwarded by corporate DNS to the GNS-VIP as the delegate is configured for GNS subdomain. Once GNS received the query either for node-vip or scan it multicast the query where it is received by MDNS running on each node and MDNS respond to GNS with their respectice IP address and finally GNS return those IP to corporate domain and finally reach to Client...Now client IP against Node-VIP or SCAn VIP to send the connection request.
