(Oracle Database 11g R2) seems not to configure Listener properly

Hi,

I'm trying to install Oracle Database 11g R2. After configuring new listener by Netca successfully (= no error), I moved on to create a new database using Database ca.
But on the screen of step4 (Configure Enterprise Manager), when i clicked the next button, Warning window showed up with message like "..You have to configure Listener using Netca..."

Below is the result of "lsnrctl start" command and "lsnrctl status" command. (They are partially Japanese, sorry.)
----------------------------
LSNRCTL> start

LSNRCTL> status
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=)(PORT=1521))
32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
-----------------------------

What shall i do to let her know that i've already created Listener?
Or some steps missed in configuring Listener?

Thanks in advance

    It seems ,your host is not mentioned properly , Please add the hostname or ip in the listener.ora file or use netca to reconfigure it.

    Then start the listener

    All,

    Thanks!! I could find several mistakes according to your advises, but it seems not enough. I still have the same problem.

    What I found and corrected were:
    - I had used Tab key instead of Space key when editing hosts file. So I overwrite them. -> My hostname show in the result of lsnrctl status commands.
    - I allocate the user, who I logged in Windows with, the right to create Global Object.
    - I check whether there's any Port number conflict, and nothing exits. (1521 is free)

    Plus, I did reconfigure the Listener, it didn't work, then I created two more Listeners(port number are1522 and 1523), but still not work.

    Here's the result of lsnrctl commands:
    --------------------------------------------------
    LSNRCTL> start

    LSNRCTL> status
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=my_host_name)(PORT=1521)))
    32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=EXTPROC1521)))
    32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directory
    LSNRCTL> start LISTENER_2

    LSNRCTL> start LISTER_TRI

    TNS-00530: プロトコル・アダプタ・エラーです。
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    And this is "listener.ora":
    -----------------------------------------------------
    ADR_BASE_LISTENER_TRI = C:\app\oracle

    LISTENER_2 =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = my_host_name)(PORT = 1523))
    )
    )

    ADR_BASE_LISTENER_2 = C:\app\oracle

    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = my_host_name)(PORT = 1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
    )
    )

    ADR_BASE_LISTENER = C:\app\oracle

    LISTENER_TRI =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = my_host_name)(PORT = 1522))
    )
    )
    ----------------------------------------------

    I really appreciate your advises!
    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Check this note 948094.1?
    <<https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=948094.1>>

    Doc said 'Local Administrator account requires to be added to "Create Global Object" policy'.
    And About "Create Global Object", check mskb 821546.

    I've checked that doc.
    The user I logged in is local administrator. And I saw both my user and the administrator group are in the "Create Global Object" Policy.

    Thanks,

    OS Service for both the database & listener must have been starting & running prior to
    lsnrctl start

    Since listener will start when no listener.ora file exists.
    It is better to move, remove, rename or delete the listener.ora file to avoid problems that may exist in it.

    OK, Sorry,

    Could you put your listener.log and if exists sqlnet.log ?
    And if you can try, stop oracle instance and then start listener.

    I removed listener.ora files from NETWORK\ADMIN directory, then configure Listener again. Listener.ora file was created, but still couldn't start the listener.
    I saw the Windows Service from Control panel, and there is only one Oracle service named "OracleMTSRecoveryService" which has alreadly started automatically.

    And also there is no listener.log nor tnsname.log under oracle directory.

    What shall i do...?

    Thanks,

    After creating listener with netca the wizard asks you to start the listener , starting the listener will automatically add the service

    Please post your listener and error you are gettting after recreation
    Do you have many oracle products installed?
    Are you using hostname/ip in the listener.ora

    Actually I install Oracle Database twice, one is "dbhome_1" and the other is "dbhome_2".
    I'd failed to deinstall the first one, so I installed again. Directory "dbhome_1" still exists. Does that make the thing complicated?

    I installed Oracle Database following the steps below:
    1.install database software only
    -single instance database installation
    -Standard edition
    2. Create Listener by Netca
    -every value is default
    3. Create Database instance by DBCA
    -create a database
    -General purpose or transaction processing
    -Configure Enterprise Manager
    - configure database control for local management

    ==> Then failed because of the absense of Listener
    Detail message is below ( this is translation from Japanese, so it might be incorrect, but please get a general idea)
    ------------------------------------
    It is necessary to configure a listener in the current Oracle home to configure a database using DBCA.
    Configure a listener usign Netca, then go on to the next.
    If you won't configure a listener, you can move on by not choosing to configure Database Control.
    --------------------------------------

    Error message on cmd line was just like I posted before.

    Which netca,dbca,etc are you using , from dbhome_1 or dbhome_2 (use from same home and see)

    Start the Net Configuration from dbhome_2 installation shortcuts
    create a listener and start it from the wizard
