Hi all ,
I have the following situation
Server A==> Main Server
Server B==> Hot Standby Server
Server A and B are located in different countries and there is a requirement whereby Server A data need to be replicate in Server B on a daily basis.
Current Process is i transfer the dbf files(360gb) etc... over to Server B and recreate the control files.
However , the transfer is taking too long.
I am wondering if there is a way to transfer over and do incremental backup instead, since the dbf file is going to be smaller .
If you do not have or want to use dataguard, you still can have manual standby.
This method requires you clone the database and manually apply the archive logs.
Otherwise, you can also do Incrementally Updating Backups rman method.
